Caracal International was founded in 2006. As lead designer, Wilhelm Bubits leveraged his past experiences working for both Glock and Steyr. Caracal USA was founded as a subsidiary in 2012 and currently manufactures all pistols. In 2007 Caracal International was acquired by Tawazun Holdings, which in turn combined with 25 defense companies in 2019 to become EDGE Group, a UAE conglomerate with $5 billion annual revenue.
