Iver Johnson Arms was founded in 2003 with purchase of the legacy name that dated back to Norwegian-born Iver Johnson (1841-1895). Johnson launched his namesake company that manufactured firearms, bicycles, and motorcycles from 1871 to 1993. The reinvented company imports 1911 style pistols from Shooters Arms Manufacturing which was founded in 1963 by Romulo De Leon III. Shooters Arms started as a gun retailer and today has several dozen retail outlets across the Phillipines. The company ventured into manufacturing in 1992 and has grown to serve global markets.
