Lone Wolf Distributors was founded in 1998 by J.R. Shepard Jr. as a supplier for Glock Accessories. Shepard - an avid shooter, hunter, and reloader - had previously founded a gun shop in the 1980's, a small store attached to his family's welding business. Lone Wolf evolved to invest in capabilities for manufacturing Glock-compatible parts. In 2020, the company was purchased by Vigilant Gear Holdings LLC. Shortly after, the name changed to Lone Wolf Arms and the company launched their first complete pistol, the Guardian. Vigilant Gear LLC was founded in 2011 and sells a wide range of survival gear.
