Wilson Combat was founded in 1977 by Bill Wilson. Originally trained as a watchmaker, Bill started his career working at Sportsman's Headquarters, a retail store in Berryville, AR. In 1977 he launched his own venture modifying stock pistols with aftermarket parts. In 1983 he began to fabricate his own components, and in 1996 launched his first in-house 1911 pistol.
